The Aftermath of Dumpster Rentals

Ever wondered what happens to the junk that you’ve disposed of in your rental dumpster? Every concerned homeowner and a good citizen that cares about the environment have had this question. Some believe the junk is all thrown in the nearby sea or incinerated but that’s not how things go.

After your housecleaning project, you might be tempted to book a dumpster rental to clear away all of the junk and waste from the project. That’s a great idea because ordinary trash bins simply do not have the capacity to accommodate junk from big projects like remodeling, construction or renovations. But what happens once you’ve loaded all of the mess into the dumpster?

The Dumpster Rental Company Arrives to pick up the Junk

You don’t need to worry about moving the dumpster. Your rental company will arrive at your appointed time (usually around 3-4 days) to pick up the loaded dumpster. Most companies apply the pay per use policy that determines the price of your rent according to the volume of the dumpster your junk has occupied.

If in case the junk overflows, you’ll need to pay for the full volume price. Pro tip: make sure the junk you dispose in your dumpster is organized so it takes up less volume and does not overflow.

Sorting out the Junk

Once the prices are cleared, it’s time for the company to sort out the junk. The dumpster is moved away from your property so your home or workplace is clutter-free and then the waste is categorized. Junk is categorized on the basis of its recyclability.

Recyclable materials such as wood and plastic are separated from materials that cannot be recycled. Items such as TVs and mattresses may also be broken down to produce recyclable materials.

Disposing the Waste

Most good dumpster rental companies will make sure their disposal method does not harm the environment in any way. That means landfill are minimized and incineration or burning of the waste is avoided. Most of the waste is recycled or dumped in an environmentally-friendly way.
